The Hornsea Heirloom Midnight Blue spice rack consists of ceramic jars designed by John Clappison for Hornsea Pottery in the 1970s, a period when the Midnight Blue colourway was produced as part of the popular Heirloom tableware range. While not initially popular, the design features a distinctive screen-printed floral pattern and has since become a sought-after and collectible item. The jars were produced with wooden lids and were originally supplied in a wooden rack, with the set including jars for spices like ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
Spice containers are intact and in excellent conditions which makes this a rare item. One-off.
