The Hornsea Pottery Saffron range was designed by John Clappison and introduced in 1970 as a follow-up to the successful Heirloom range. The distinctive Saffron pattern features caramel-colored, daisy-like circular motifs on a burnt orange background, characteristic of the 1970s design aesthetic. The range, made using stoneware and a pioneering glaze resist technique, quickly became popular and remains highly sought after by collectors today.
