Recycled Mid-Century lamp

Regular price £155.00 Sale

Artisan designed, bespoke homewares. Recycled. Biodegradable. Sustainable.

The recycled materials come from the waste fruit punnets of Belgian farmers. These are processed, dyed and made into reels of filament by our materials supplier: Reflow. The reels are used by our 3D printers to melt the plastic and reform it into our designs. This material is fully biodegradable PLA, it can be recycled again or hot composted to quickly return the corn-based plastic back to nature.

Bioplastic is a sustainable and carbon-negative solution to our reliance on fossil fuels to provide plastics. Waste biomass from the production of corn, cassava or sugar is fermented into Lactic Acid. When condensed in the presence of a tin based catalyst, and the water removed, it forms a “plastic” known as PolyLactic Acid, or PLA. This process is also reversible which means that PLA can be recycled into virgin PLA indefinitely, and is the best method of disposal. PLA can also be industrially hot-composted.

Utilizing modernist angles and a timeless aesthetic, this lampshade captures the essence of the 1960s. Choose between eggshell for a soft, porcelain-like glow or quartz for a bright, diffused light similar to frosted glass.

Choose from a range of earth-toned bases designed to continue and accentuate the vertical lines of the lampshade sleek: Terracota, Sage, Blue or Black.

Includes a 3.5m natural jute cable and switch, standing at 28cm tall and 15cm wide, with an E27 fitting. Includes Philips 7W LED warm white bulb. Please only use LED bulbs in these lamps as they are heat sensitive!
